I created this journal to document my Pokémon adventures. My first experience with Pokémon was when one of my friends gave me two free cards: a Tentacruel and a Stantler. I thought they looked so cool, and it totally inspired me to start collecting more. My friends and I began trading cards at school, and over time, I built up a pretty solid collection. But eventually, things got a little out of hand—kids started selling cards for real money, so Pokémon ended up getting banned from school. :(

Around that time, one of my best friends told me about pókemon video games you could play on different cosoles. I didn't have a DS yet, but I looked up and watched hundreds of videos of tutorials playing the games. My favorite YouTuber to watch was Lueroi's Pokémon LeafGreen Walkthrough (I still have the intro stuck in my head). I remember enjoying his commentary and strategies for handling different opponents. His videos really made me want to buy my own console and build my own teams to become a champions. After begging my parents, I finally got my first console; a blue nintendo DS lite. The first game I got was Pokémon SoulSilver, one of the greatest games in the franchise to this day.
